Sylvain was born in a religious and Musical family his Dad and mother were very talented they could played musical instruments , compose , arrange and sing . He had the opportunity to learn to play guitar and sing with his brothers and sisters at home. Church was the place he spent most of his childhood, singing in church bands was what he loved to do all his entire youth. Growing up he felt music was flowing in his blood not as a hobby but, a strong call to take care of.
He was part of the band called "Etoile du Matin" ,At the age of 15 they released an album called : " Exploision de Louange " in which had one of his childhood memory composition titled " Oh! mes amis " Recorded at " Pilo studios " in 1990, and he joined the ground called " Pop Alléluia".
Then he joined the Band Magic Stars of Kamal Zen , as a guitarist where he met met Papy Mossama the pianist ,with the same band they participated at the FESPAM featuring an icon of Congolese music Pierre Mountouari.

His brother Bienvenu Baloubeta who is his is music mentor , called him to be part of " Echo du salut " and "Blood and fire " whom he was the founder (Gospel bands ). In 2000 his brother founded a band called " Sofia Grooce energy " in which he was the Bassist and singer .They did many gigs at " Picardie " and at the " Hotel Azur " They recorded an album that was never released due to misunderstings between the producer "Saladin Massala " and their manager " Tsaka Tsaka "
Sylvain worked as a Bass player at the " Rubens " Jazz club in Pointe - noire( Republic of Congo )where he played a lot of music genders that framed his versatility as a Bass player and guitarist. he jammed with the late Papa Wemba at Rubens on the song called : " Rail on "
He joined " New Jungle " of Maikhan Isaac they did a lot of shows at the " Pagode " with the management of the Alliance Française .
Then he moved to South Africa in 2005 where he met incredible musicians such as : Daniel Eppel at Mama dance studios with whom he worked with in many music projects including the band called " Kolelo" , they did many shows in Cape town.
Then they started a new project called "los Diablos with four other musicians " Charly , Nelson malela , Simon Annet and Ben Amato " They did a lot of gigs at Zula Bar on longstreet and private shows around Cape Town.
Afterwards he met Shaffiek with whom he started a band called " Khoitrans " composed of : Sylvain Baloubeta , Shaffiek Kimmie , Nelson Melala , Texito langa , Ladji kante and Orlando Venherque " visit : Koitrans zula bar cape town - YouTube

Sylvain and his brother Bienvenu joined Colorfields a band founded by Ashly Read and her wife Kerstie with another tow members , Zahane and Juda they played couple shows at Zula Bar on long street and at the Transbeat festival. they recorded an album that was never released because of Ash's addiction the drummer.

Then he joined " Nunga " of Patrick Mouanga as a Bassist singer , composer and Arranger , they played many gigs at Menemberg Jazz cafe at the waterfront in Cape Town and at Marimba Restaurant with supervision of the late Mohammed Fall who was their manager , may his soul rest in peace.
He Moved to Johannesburg to collaborabe with his brother Bienvenu who was working for Kehonka Music Productions , they started a band called " Telama" under the direction of Graig Francis with the band : " Madzeve Dzeve where they met , the late Hugh massekela and Themba Mokwena . Kehonka Music and Productions is a music recording company based in Johannesbug , South Africa . founded by Greg Francis .

In 2008 , Sylvain toured with Chris Hinze right after the release of the "Africa impressions " an Album in which Sylvain was featured as a Bass player , they Toured in Europe. the band was composed of : Chris Hinze , Sylvain Baloubeta , Rassheehama , Jwelz , Coen Molenaar and Remco.

Sylvain worked with many well known South Africans artists such as : Errol dyers , Robbie Jansen , Georges Werner ' Alou April , Barry Van zyl who was johnny Glegg 's Drummer , Andrew Ford a virtuoso on piano , Buddy wells He also had a duet project called " Karibajazz " with Willy Haubrich who is the head of Brass section at the University of Cape Town ( UCT) in South Africa.
